Little Flock, Tamil Nadu, India

The children at Little Flock were an inspiration, and their resilience over tragedy was astounding. The brightness of their smiles, their infectious laughter, and the way they helped one another and helped us when we distributed the shoes to the Dalit (or “untouchable, lower caste) children in the village all illustrate the way children can blossom when planted in fertile ground. Despite horrific, worse-than-Dickensian life stories, they had hope and a future.  

Simple interventions such as good nutrition, appropriate footwear, and good hygiene in a loving environment have made an enormous difference.
